Application Oriented Designs, Inc. (AOD) was established in Miami, Florida in 1977 as a data processing and management consulting firm specializing in information systems for financial applications. The company was started by a group of professional consultants previously engaged with national accounting and consulting firms and major corporations who possessed a wide range of expertise in data processing, business and management.
As a result of various engagements with housing finance agencies and other housing related organizations, AOD recognized the need for reliable, user-friendly and cost-effective software for the housing finance industry. AOD designed and developed the first housing finance agency system in 1979. AOD's software is not taken from other commercial applications and modified to suit an agency's needs; it has been programmed "from scratch" to meet the housing finance agencies' requirements, incorporate all federal regulatory guidelines, and provide the needed flexibility to accommodate a variety of new program structures.
As consultants to the housing finance industry, our staff has first-hand knowledge of the daily operational requirements of a housing agency. AOD's staff is familiar with the various aspects of each program, as well as, financial management issues and regulatory requirements. Additionally, each of our systems has been developed with the participation of a housing finance agency to ensure not only that the software handles the agencies' needs, but that it does so in the most efficient and user-friendly manner. This combined knowledge and resources have been translated into a data processing product that specifically addresses the unique needs of the housing finance industry.
Over the past twenty-five years, the AOD family of software products have been installed in Housing Finance Authorities nationwide. AOD's unique knowledge of the HFA's, our large investment in software development, and our firm belief in good old fashioned hard work and reliable service have gained AOD national recognition as specialists in the housing finance industry. We are proud of the relationship we have established with each of our clients over the years.
